North London Hill Villages Coach Tour

Who would have thought that just five kilometres (three miles) above Regent's Park, through exclusive St. John's Wood and Swiss Cottage, are the unspoilt villages of Hampstead and Highgate?

Hampstead has the deepest underground station in London and its mineral water springs were fashionable in the 18th & 19th centuries, when Constable, Keats and Coleridge were all local residents. A flagpole marks the 134 metre (440 ft.) summit of the hill with a view said to encompass ten counties. On the way to Highgate we can see some of the most breathtaking views over London. Kenwood House can be visited - Lord Mansfield's elegant 18th century mansion designed by Robert Adam and containing the marvellous Iveagh Collection of old master paintings.

Hampstead Heath
Fine 17th and 18th century houses can be seen in Highgate. which is famed for its cemetery, where Karl Marx, George Eliot and other great Victorians are buried.
